I bought this computer on sale for $550. That alone made this laptop a great value, however once I formatted the hard drive and installed Windows XP SP2, this laptop went from great to awesome. Even at its current price, it is a great buy, and even greater if you install Windows XP on it.

This is a great Laptop. I've had it for 3 months now. I'm using mine while deployed in Iraq and it is AWESOME! The best part is the brightness of the screen and also how loud the speakers are. I dont even have to plug in any additional speakers like I had to do for my previous Dell laptop. I mostly use it for online school and for music. The computer is very fast and I dont forsee any problems with it. The only thing I would reccommend is buying an extra battery because it doesnt last long at all. But what laptop does?

Customer Buzz
This is the best laptop I have ever owned. I needed a 32 OS because our VPN client does not support a 64 bit OS yet. The salesperson recommended this and I could not be happier. I bought two (one for my wife). The price was $600/piece.

The 3 GB of RAM really helps with performance. The full keyboard is such a plus especially when you have to use a RAS card to log into VPN. The wireless connectivity is great. I have no issues anywhere in my house connecting to my wireless network. Battery life is more than adequate. The sleek design along with the 15.6 wide screen is a plus. The built in web cam is so so but I use the family PC's logitech if I really need high res. Sound system is O.K. I much prefer to hook it up to external speakers if I want to listen to music.

All in all a great bargain.

this laptop is not only very accesible for it's price but because of the features packed in it (and they're very good), the full-sized keyboard with the numeric keys by it's side is a huge plus for me( i hate typing numbers on the qwerty), vista works fine, wireless capabilities are good, so far so great, i have not encountered any trouble and it has been around the house for about a month now.

Customer Buzz
I recently purchased this computer and could not be happier. It performs well and it's one of the fastest laptops I have ever seen! AMD has really perfected the dual core processor. The 3GB of RAM and the Nvidia Graphics chip really make highly visual software fly. I use to be a gamer and on occasion still delve into some of them. I know that laptops are not generally adequate enough to play some of the high end games at high quality, but just for fun I tried one out. Not only did it run the game at an astonishing speed, but with the highest detail. Needless to say I was impressed.

I only gave this computer 4 stars, which can easily be given 5, because the built in camera is low quality, which my cell phone is even better, so I would have figured HP could do a little better. If you are just going to use it for messaging, then it's perfect. Vcasting would maybe be another story. Also, I gave it 4 stars because one of the programs I installed didn't work at first. It took couple of minutes to get working properly and did become frustrating, but it did work and continues to work just fine. It was a one time occurrence and wasn't a huge deal.

Runs very cool and looks completely flawless. The last time I saw a screen with this much clarity and crispness, I was staring into a top of the line Mac.

This is not the latest and greatest machine you can buy on todays market, but it is wonderful value for money.
More than enough power for a small office, home, or homeschool work.
And when running dual boot with linux this box really screams.
With linux systems, this amount of memory makes it a home office dream.

Customer Buzz
I love the power and speed of this computer! It plays all my current applications and one's that I had from before! I gave up a newer Acer because of problems with my favorite applications. No problems at all with this one.

I have had many brands of computers and seem to have the best luck with HP's. The hardware works well together and I have not had any glitches like I do with the Acer or Toshiba computers I own.

Would I recommend it? Yes. I actually bought another after using the one I got my son for his gaming. He rocks now on CounterStrike!

Customer Buzz
This computer arrived almost ready to go. It works at lighting speed compared to my 7 year old HP. It handles many big programs open at once. First used for video editing and it meets all my expectations. The only con is windows vista. I am xp fan. Computer uses 64bit version of vista. I have found very few programs that will not work on the 64bit version.

Customer Buzz
I bought this here on Amazon two weeks ago. I'm happy as heck with it so far. I like Vista once I started using it, and so far I have done everything in the digital realm, so drivers haven't been an issue. Vista recognized my Creative mp3 player and my BlackBerry as soon as I plugged them in. I've heard that Vista was better if you run it on a computer that can handle it, meaning multiprocessors and 4 GB or more RAM, and I have found this to be the case. Very happy with both the hardware and the software, especially considering the price.

Customer Buzz
This is a very nice computer, especially for the price. Like stated in an earlier review, the sound card is sort of crappy. Overall it's nt bad and I would definitely recommend buying this product.

Customer Buzz
I bought this computer to use as a DAW, to produce and record my music on. This is not a good computer for that purpose. Running DPC latency check, spikes were consistently high, almost always in the red. This means that there are several conflicts with devices, and/or processes that will cause 'clicks, pops, and audio dropouts.' This is probaby, mostly due to Vista, so I would not knock the computer. It's great for most purposes. But I wouldn't recommend it as a DAW, due to latency issues.

It's fast, everything loads up quickly. I delete all the HP nonsense that comes with it, and it makes it even faster. I just wish it was more compatible with Audio hardware.

I want to try and run XP on this, but I think it is impossible. I can't even find the chipset driver for XP.

Customer Buzz
We bought this in package form along with an HP monitor and printer to replace our aging desktop. It completely screams when asked to do anything multimedia related, and cruises on native MS programs like Office 2007 as well. If you really want to get some performance out of it, install OpenOffice and Firefox, as both seem to take advantage of the hardware and outperform their MS brethren by wide margins. I can't help but think what Linux would do on such a machine.

The only problem we had, and it WAS frustrating, was that a technician bent a pin in the wireless card during install. It was nothing that anyone would have noticed visually, and the system initially performed well, but after a day, the bad connection was too much and the wireless card only worked intermittently. After an all night session talking with HP Service in India, I located the problem. A new wireless card, free of charge and with straight pins, fixed the situation. I can't hold it against HP. The card initially worked on start-up, so it probably passed the bench tests. These things happen, even at Apple and Dell. HP's customer service was patient and effective, and the new part arrived in 2 days.

Overall, incredible machine. By our "Performance Gadget," we haven't even begun to max the processor or RAM out, even with the latest versions of Pinnacle Studio, OpenOffice, and MusicMaker.

Customer Buzz
Following up on my prior review (which has not yet been approved/posted) I attempted to install Vista Ultimate 64 Bit on the machine and it would not take; i.e. the installation said this computer would not take the install and it kept Vista Home Premium 64 Bit installed.

Other than that, and I expect MS to fix the issue, my prior review stands. Great value and performance.

Customer Buzz
Purchased mine at Office Max as they had it on sale without the hassle of submitting the rebate form as at Depot. The performance rating (found under control panel) shows exceptional ratings except for video, which is understandable given that the video is integrated. I plan on upgrading video with a dedicated PCI-E card which should make the computer fly in all tasks. Be aware that Vista 64 does not support older hardware and software. Even ones that run fine under XP may not run under this OS. The processor is an AMD quad which is a cheaper alternative to similar Intel but it does a fine job and is fast. Also note that the wireless is up to G only (no draft N) but with the included antenna, the reception is good and internet browsing is fast enough. For under $510, there aren't too many systems out there that offers similar performance. Only reason why I'm not giving it a 5 is the integrated video and G wireless.

Customer Buzz
Been in the market for a new PC for a while and wound up purchasing this one yesterday, locally from Office Depot (sixty dollar rebate enticed me over the edge ;) )

Initial impressions were that it seemed slower that I expected a quad core processor to run but it is still plenty fast (downloads and loading software from CD where not much faster at all than my old Pentium 4 1.2G)

Where the quad core really shines is when running multiple apps (antivirus scan while surfing, etc.)

The wireless card requires an external antenna (included, but weird) which is invaluable if you happen to be located any appreciable distance away from your wireless router. I have mine on the other side of the house and still register 100% signal.

I really have only a couple of gripes, with just one of them major. 1, the HP suite is an enormous, cumbersome waste of space that does absolutely nothing. Hard to believe that when I ran antivirus on a brand new machine and the Task Manager showed 61 processes ( Yea Vista :( ) running and over 700,000 files already on the hard drive. Which leads me to 2. Windows Vista 64.

If you are looking for a single reason to run for the hills away from this computer - this is it. First and foremost, you can toss anything at all you expect to use peripheraly right out the window. I guarantee if it's over a year old, there are no drivers for it.

Found this out the hard way after spending most of the evening trying to locate drivers for my printer only to find out that the manufacturer no long supports the model and does not and will not write drivers for it. So my 3 year old perfectly good laser printer is now a boat anchor.
Additionally, I planned to do sound editing (actually one of the reasons for the purchase) and guess what? No Vista 64 drivers for the Alesis Multimix. and so on.

Thinking about wiping Vista off and replacing with a copy of XP service pack 2? Forget it - unless you're gonna replace the motherboard and buy new sound, video, PCI cards...HP doesn't support XP drivers for the sound and video cards. Talk about a catch 22.

The sound and video are integrated on the motherboard and the sound card is a Realtek which seems more than adequate. Scaleable to HD, 5.1 and 7.1, I'm pleasantly impressed. The video card is average at best and definitely the weakest piece of the package. Gamers will not be impressed.

Overall, it is fine for the money, but be aware of what you are getting. If this is a first purchase, I'm sure the OS will become more and more prevelant and any gear you purchase to go along with it should be Vista 64 compliant. If it's a replacement, get ready to buy all new stuff.

Customer Buzz
I've owned one of these computers (actually, an m9500y) for a couple months now. It's a decent PC and runs all the software I want to run (including software development tools and games, in addition to web & email, etc.); however, this computer has some bad enough quirks to make me not want to buy another one of these.

I'll start out with the good things about this computer:
- It's fast, and it has tons of RAM and hard drive space. Having a quad-core CPU really helps with multi-tasking and CPU-intensive software that can take advantage of more than 1 core (i.e., making use of multi-threading). Even if AMD may be falling behind Intel these days, I think they still make a very good CPU. Also, 8GB of RAM as standard is fairly rare these days in a desktop PC and is more than enough for what I need. The RAM is decently fast, too (DDR2-6400). The hard drive is also fairly large: 750GB is more than I would expect in a desktop PC at this price.
- The video card (Nvidia GeForce 9500) is decent for gaming. I'm fairly familiar with gaming video cards, and as far as Nvidia cards go, I'd have preferred a 9600 or 9800, but Nvidia's 9500 card is still fairly good and runs all the games I enjoy pretty smoothly. It's nice that it has 512MB of RAM, too. In addition, the video card has an HDMI output, which I think is a nice touch - from what I've seen, that is still fairly uncommon for desktop video cards.

Overall, I think the combination of the video card, quad-core CPU, RAM, and hard drive space is a very good value for the price of this PC.

Now, onto the bad stuff:
- The USB interfaces may be somewhat unstable in some circumstances. One time when I plugged my USB printer into one of the rear USB ports, the computer rebooted.
- The microphone inputs are unacceptable, in my opinion. I like to occasionally voice chat with people over the internet, and the microphone inputs are unsuitable for that. My voice is masked behind a lot of noise using the rear mic input, and if I use the front mic input, my voice isn't picked up at all. I also like to occasionally record music on my computer, so the audio inputs on this computer are definitely not adequate. For voice chat, I ended up buying an inexpensive USB audio adapter for its microphone input, and it works well (it's one of these: Syba SD-CM-UAUD USB Stereo Audio Adapter, C-Media Chipset, RoHS).
- After only 2 months, the video card fan in my PC started to vibrate loudly. This is something I find pretty annoying, and it's disappointing that it started to happen so soon.
- The motherboard's PCI Express is not the newer 2.0 standard. This could be a limiting factor if you ever decide to upgrade the video card. Many new video cards support the newer PCI Express 2.0 standard; they are backwards-compatible with PCI Express 1.0, so they would still work with this motherboard, but they would not be able to take advantage of the PCI Express 2.0 specs.

Hare are some of my miscellaneous other thoughts:
- The flash card reader is a nice touch. I have a couple devices (digital camera and a music synthesizer) that use flash media, and it's nice to be able to plug the media into the reader in this PC to copy the files off. My digital camera uses only USB 1.1, so this PC's built-in card reader is faster.
- This PC has bays that support HP's Pocket Media and Media Drive technology. It looks like these are hot-swappable hard drives designed by HP, but I had never heard of them before I bought this PC. With USB hard drives and flash drives, I'm not likely to use HP's media/pocket drives, so these are insignificant to me.
- This PC lacks a reset button. I realize the same effect could probably be done using the power button or unplugging the PC, but it's nice having a reset button in case the computer ever freezes up and you need to do a hard reset. Besides, a reset button is standard on many PCs, so it just seems odd that HP would not include a reset button.
- The power supply lacks a hard power switch. Again, this is something that I think is nice to have and is included on many power supplies, so it seems odd not to have one.
- The DVD burner does not seem to work with TDK double-layer media. I have a spindle of TDK double-layer DVD+R media that I had used with my old PCs; however, the drive in this computer always gives burning errors with these discs. I've found that Verbatim double-layer DVDs work fine in it though.

Personally, I am disappointed in the negatives that I have pointed out. The video card fan vibration is particularly annoying. I give this PC a 3-star rating for its overall value (CPU, RAM, hard drive space, and choice of video card), but I can't give it more than that due to the negatives.

Normally I like to build my own PC, but I was in a bit of a financial bind, which is why I bought one of these. If you're in the market for a PC, I'd recommend you look elsewhere or build your own PC if you are savvy enough. Unfortunately, I think the reason many of these name-brand PCs have become as cheap as they are is that some of the components they use are cheap and are lacking in quality.

Customer Buzz
I postponed the purchase of a new desktop PC for far too long. I endured the sluggishness of a four year old computer beyond its useful life. My new HP Pavilion Elite runs Photoshop at least five times faster than my earlier PC. Most other applications are considerably faster.

MS Vista was a cause for some concern. My friends who purchased slower PCs complaied about Vista performance. With a quad processor, a 7200 RPM hard drive and 8 GB RAM, this HP runs plenty fast with Vista. I find some of the changes annoying that Microsoft made with Vista, but my overall experience with Vista has been good.

Customer Buzz
Pros:
This machine has plenty of power and memory to become my home media center. It has HDMI output so I can connect it directly to my HDTV. It has a Blu-ray disc reader so I don't have to use my PS3 anymore for HD movies. It has a remote control for Vista Media Center so I don't have to use the mouse and keyboard. It works pretty much like a DVR without the monthly subscription fees. It has Vista Premium 64-bit so it includes the Vista Media Center which is a great application to use because it's free and it has a free 14-day TV guide. VMC also can handle two TV tuners so you can record or watch two digital AND two analog signals. I have recorded all four signals at once and this system was able to do it with great audio and video quality.

Cons:
HP tech support is horrible. They don't know anything about the systems. They are only going by scripts.

The internal wireless card interferes with the TV tuner HVR-1290. When both are in the system, the video output for the HVR-1290 flickers. If I wanted to use the internal wireless card, I have to replace the HVR-1290 with a HVR-1800. If you plan on keeping the HVR-1290 in the system, you will need to get a USB wireless adapter.

Case is too small to be able to use all 6 SATA ports. I was able to fit two extra 1.5 TB Barracuda's. If I want to use the other two SATA ports, I will have to use an external eSATA drive.

The two HP personal drive USB bays are useless. You are better off buying an external USB drive. The bays are taking up space for more expansion.

Did I already say that HP tech support is horrible? Let me say it again. HP Tech support is horrible

Other thoughts:
I would have given this a five rating if it wasn't for HP's horrible tech support and that the wireless HP installed in the system didn't interfere with the TV tuner.

I would also have given this a lower rating than four if it wasn't able to do what I needed it to do. Since I was able to resolve my issues and I was already planning on installing a second TV Tuner, the flicker issue was really a non-issue for me since the wireless card had to go anyways. The system only came with two PCI Express x1 slots.

Received as a Christmas gift and coming from a 2.4 ghz machine with 256 ram it is hard to make a fair comparison. The machine operates so fast that I have had no problems playing graphically intensive games for long periods while still operating 5 other programs in the background and little to no slowing.

Added a wireless HP printer and external hard drive and everything was plug and play accessible as was my ancient flash drive.

Now, making the switch from Windows XP to the 64 bit Vista I found many problems that mostly came about with Internet Explorer. Until Flash that is....

Currently there is no Flash 10 support for 64 bit systems. Firefox allows you to run flash applets and such in 32 bit mode and for me this is not a problem since Firefox is my browser of choice but for those of you who wish to used IE and run flash the ability to run IE in 32 bit mode is sketchy at best, often crashing the entire system.

Now, using the windows toolbar. Anything that requires Flash again requires you to run in 32 bit mode and to date for me all it does is crash.

So as far as the machine itself it is a resounding 5 stars, for the software included I would put it no higher than 2 stars.

There is more issues with programs and the 64 bit mode but they are many and often related to games and programs not keeping up with advancing technology.

I just wanted to give you a little feedback.

My M9550f came in a nice sturdy unmarked package. Everything was there. So far everything has worked flawlessly. I'm leaving it on to burn-in. It is very quiet and plenty fast for my main two applications (Adobe Lightroom and Canon DPP). My peripherals all work flawlessly with it - better than with my previous (xxx) computer. The included HP software works well and is helpful. I've used it for help a couple of times.

The only negative is the confusion caused by it assuming (on install) I don't have a service provider and its almost insistence on me selecting one. I think it should assume I have one and then provide suggestions if I don't.

Anyhow it's a great computer. I haven't seen anything out there nearly as nice for the money. I did see a review by "a reviewer" saying I should pay $600 more to buy a Dxxx that had nowhere near the features (just a faster CPU). The reason the reviewer gave was that you got 15 months of Norton vs 6 wks and it would read Blueray disks. The M9550f reads Blueray too! 15 months of Norton is a definite disadvantage (I prefer my own antivirus and don't way to prebuy) and writing to Blueray is not important to me. So, I wrote the reviewer off.

Addendum: A couple of weeks have past and the computer is still doing great. I added a 2nd internal hard drive. The drive cage was easy to access. The HD was easy to install and connect. The computer wiring was neat with everything in its place. No wiring mess at all - unlike the PCW reviewer claimed. Also, the DVD door has not hung once.

My review is mostly for Enthusiast/Professional Photographers...

I needed a new powerful desktop with 64-bit processing. My Sony Vaio desktop that once was cutting edge two years ago,is now not able to keep up with many of todays demands. Especially my updated versions of Photoshop CS, and Lightroom 2.3 which works native in 64-bit.

64-bit allows windows to accept, use and maximize a computer with 4+ gbs of RAM. The HP Pavilion Elite M9550F comes pre-installed with a maxed out 8gbs of ram.

So for a photographer using high end software, and downloading large amounts of files. This computer works swiftly and effortlessly.

On my older sony desktop, it took about 15 minutes to download 4gb off of a compact flashcard. I could not do any other task while it downloaded, or risked data loss or the download not completing.

It takes about a minute to download with the HP, and I listen to music and/or check emails with no detectable slow down in the system.

On my old desktop, if I changed modules in lightroom, or did any form of editing it took a few seconds to see the changes. I sometimes had to hit Ctrl+Z so I can see the before image. With my new HP,... It's so fast that I miss the changes if they are not drastic. The screen appears to blink, because it responds so fast to my commands.

The onboard 1TB of storage is another huge plus. There are still very few desktops on the market with an internal 1TB drive. I have purchased three 1TB external hardrives, with two mirroring the HP's internal drive. There is a bay available that can be used for an additional internal drive, and you can purchase a HP Media Drive up to 1TB to plug right into a special bay. No wires, or software is necessary.

I distribute CD's to models and clients often. The LightScribe technology that is part of the CD/DVD drive lets you etch custom labels and artwork right on a LightScribe-enabled CD or DVD. This allows you to look professional and a cut about the rest.

There are several ways to hook up a monitor, so I have the VGA attached to my old CRT monitor, and HDMI port attached to a 30inch flatscreen. Using dual displays is just a few clicks, and takes your image editing to another level.

There are a lot of features that I'm sure I missed, but these are the standout features to me, using it for photography.

This computer is a powerhouse! Fast & quiet with loads of HDD storage space. The media drive is a bit useless unless you don't mind spending more then an external drive would cost you. Typical HP attempts to lock in their customers at higher prices w/proprietary crap. The OS is ok being Vista and it's fairly easy to remove the crapware. I added it to my network and got it configured with the router and added all my favorite open source apps in a jiffy. I have yet to find anything to really complain about. It would be nicer to have two drives for backup or a true Raid array (it has a virtual Raid backup image. The backup disc creator failed repeatedly and I am working on that. All in all though, a decent upgrade to my older single CPU machines.

Lots of my software isn't compatible with this computer. I'm still working on getting my scanner and tablet to even work on this. Simple things like Google bookmarks aren't available in the toolbar. This only comes with 4 USB ports and 1 phone line. Issues with having to use a separate hub for more USB connections when main hardware wants to be directly connected. Lots of things I don't really need instead. But it's fast and other things are working. Almost too much trouble to return but considering it.

Customer Buzz
I bought it at Circuit City - specs looked awesome, price was great! Got it home and had problems straight out of the box. Fans were cranking at full speed, gotta be at least 40 dB all the time - and it took 3 solid days with 1 guy in India after another before they would authorize a return for evaluation. Took 2 weeks to turn that around, got it back, and immediately several fatal errors came up on screen. Reformattted the hard drive and started over...
It is now over a month - and a new cpu, a new video card, and all new fans - later, and I just setting up the replacement that HP finally agreed to send because the first was such a lemon... and the fans are going on this one too!!!
This MIGHT just last a year... but I doubt it.
Horrible experience, horrible product, horrible waste of time and money. This is the 3rd HP I have purchased, and they have just gotten worse and worse over time. Never again. Spare yourselves - Don't make the mistake I made. Don't buy HP.

Fast, Hi. cap. storage (I also added a 1 TB external)and 8 GB of RAM make this a steal of a deal. I have had zero issues with Vista, and wouldn't go back to XP. Period. I am a photo. editor and this is all the machine I need to run 64 bit Lightroom and 64 bit Photoshop.
I really haven't found a single thing bad to say about it yet. I bought it in about December.
I was going to build my own (again) until I researched this one. I couldn't get close to the specs. of this one for the same money.

keyboard is dark gray with black letters; virtually impossible to read except under direct bright light. I had to return the laptop.
Flawed product design; HP must redesign keybord.

Customer Buzz
This is my first laptop and I think I made a great choice. Firstly, I bought it directly from hp.com and with the rebates I had, saved two hundred dollars. Secondly, I got free 2 day shipping and it arrived on time.

The first thing I like about it is that the color is not the cheap gold look you see in the picture. I love the keyboards on HPs Entertainment and Special Edition notebooks. They do not feel cramped. There have been many cmplaints about the glare of the keyboards on this and the black and chrome models. So far, I have had no problems with the glare. Yes, I agree with the other reviewer, that the keys are hard to see in the dark. I would assume that would be the case for any laptop unless it is backlighted and this is not. It is light (wtihtout the battery), the speakers generate nice sound, it finds wireless networks instantly, and I actually like Vista. Just a note, read up on accessing the hidden administrator account if you are new to Vista. It has some serious security that will keep you from making even the most basic adjustments, including removing the bloatware.
HP has done a wonderful job in including set up tutorials and online registration processes. The size is fantastic and screen is beautiful. I have not attached any peripherals up to it yet, so I cannot really comment on that.

Cons:
The battery life is short.. maybe an hour and a half even when it in the recommended power save mode. It has a lighted HP emblem on the back of the cover that uses resources. HP could have added the backlighted keyboard instead! The verdict is still out on there telephone tech service! I have had better experience with there chat support.
The comp does sound like it is working overtime anytime I burn a CD and the vibration generating from drive is a bit too much for me to type at the same time.

This is a great laptop, esp. if you can get it for under $[...]. It has only some bells and whistles, so if you want built in bluetooth and a blueray player, you will have to go up a model. Otherwise, no reason not to consider this one.

Customer Buzz
Performance is good, lookwise it is good and come with good features but only problem is with keyboard color...you can't see lables/alphabets on keyboard clearly (because of bronze color) specially during night time...I am good in keyboard typing so it's fine for me ..if you are not good in typing and can't type without looking into keyboard then little bit you need to strugle in finding keys in keyboard.
This laptop worth it for $700....good value for money and go for it if you are comfortable with keyboard
I am unable to edit my rating ...I will rate this laptop for 4 out of 5

HP Pavilion Slimline S3700F Desktop PC (2.6 Reviews

Product Description

HP Pavilion Slimline s3700 Desktop PC series is an attractive, space-saving PC at an affordable price. This slimline desktop gives you a power-packed PC in a compact and ultra stylish package to fit in well in any room in the house.

Customer Buzz
This computer is a real bargain at this price. The shipping was as stated. Overall this was a very good deal.

Customer Buzz
I received the HP Slimline 3750f and tried to start it up. I received a message "Missing Operating System". I tried to look in the start up F10 (CMOS) and noticed that Hard Drive was 320GB instead of advertised 640GB. Furthermore, it stated that the system had 2GB of RAM instead advertised 4GB of RAM. Not only that, this was a return product from a previous person who purchased and shipped back to Amazon. This computer was actually NEVER checked or opened, the reason I know is because the original packing slip was in it. I am usually happy with Amazon.com, but this is just not right customer service. I would expect them to review previous returns, not send them and state that it is a "new" product when someone else already used it, and of course I would expect for the computer you buy to work. Knowing Amazon I imagine my full shipping costs refund and full refund for this product, I just hope some will actually open up the box and fix this DEFECTIVE HP Slimline 3750f computer.

Customer Buzz
Unfortunately the computer did work.
It seemed that it had no operating system installed.
There were no installation cds included for any re-install.
Return was painless though.

Customer Buzz
This is a really nice small size computer for home browsing / kitchen use. The case is amazingly small, speed is fast. This is not made to run high requirement games or applications, if you just use this for browsing and some MS Office applications, it does the job perfectly.

It has all the components you want, even comes with wi-fi installed. Setup was a breeze. Now, it's not perfection, here's some of the minor issues I encountered:

1. no DVI outlet - my fault for not reading the description clearly, but by now I thought that would be standard. If you have one of those HP Flat screen monitors, with or without DVI, it looks fantastic, so no big deal.

2. bloatware - this is a pain, this is my 1st time using vista, still not able to uninstall all the prebuilt softwares. takes up screen space and does nothing. One reason I normally just build my own computers.

3. keyboard & mouse - these are as good as trash. besure to get your own. Usually the mouse always sucks with prebuilt systems, so that was expected. The keyboard looked nice, felt nice, but there's something wrong with the design, it's extra small or something, anyone use to typing on a normal keyboard will not be able to type right. My wife said I was too picky & have fat fingers until she tried it herself, ah.... the man is right... get a replacement keyboard, you won't regret it.

Customer Buzz
I needed a quick replacement for my HP Pavilion desktop that died on me. Didn't want to reinvent the wheel with a big cost computer - $429 was just right. Added my 24" monitor from old computer - up and running in no time. Only drawback - DO NOT buy if you need to expand. There is no room for any expansion whatsoever. Didn't matter to me since I only needed a good, powerful machine to keep me in business. Fast!
