Santa brought the kids a tent and tent accessories for Christmas. We used the latern to light up the tent and the kids used the containers to hold their treats. It tent accessories just add to the adventure. I would recommend the item for the price.


This camp set was purchased for my 2 1/2 year old son along with an indoor tent. He absolutly loves it and plays with it all the time. He especially like the lantern (which really works!)


I bought this for my Grandson's 3rd birthday along with the "Kids Explorer Adventure and Hiking Set" and from the moment he received these sets he did NOT put them down. Our daughter could not believe just how realistic everything looked, then we all just sat and watched our "Little Camper".
He "cooked" us each a completely different meal and kept us all laughing hysterically for that entire night. He still uses his lantern as his night light.
Please continue creating toys that actually "force" children of all ages to simply use their imaginations, with NO need for batteries, TV or any other electronic device.

Well worth the money I paid. I took these to an orphanage in Eldoret, Kenya for the boys to play with.


For the money you get a lot of racing cars that hold up quite well to kids. They aren't matchboxes and so they are less expensive, to the other reviewers: Don't buy cheap and expect matchbox quality, pay the difference if it's such a big deal (morons). So again, I feel for the money you get a great selection and are lots of fun to play with! 5 Stars!


I was disapointed in the quality of the cars. They all had the same 2-3 shapes, just different colors. Later, I found a set of Hot Wheels (about 20 of them) for about the same $$. Cursed myself for not looking harder for cars. Does my son play with them? yes. Are they junk? absolutely


There are only a couple of models in these cheap plastic cars, although each comes in several colors. They break during normal handling, and were a total waste of money. The only reason they even got a star at all, was that I had to rate it with something.


Super product! My son loves them and there are no problems with them "falling" apart. Highly recommended, sure to put a smile on your kids face : ) A++++

The sticks broke up fairly easily when handled by my 3 1/2 year old daughter. I much prefer the thicker chalks for children this age.


I've rarely met an M&D product that I didn't love, but...

For starters, despite being shipped in a ridiculous amount of packaging, most of the pieces of chalk were shattered when it arrived, and the ones that weren't broke easily in my child's hand as she wrote.

The colors are wonderful and vibrant, but it's coated with something, presumably to keep down the dust, but it's really difficult (even for me) to "break through" that layer to actually write with the chalk. So - we'll try crayola next time!

Let's clear one thing up right away; this is a NETBOOK. Not a desktop replacement or gaming laptop. Netbooks are designed to do only a few things. In exchange for this limitation, you get a small form factor, low power consumption device that supplements your computing arsenal.

All of that being said, this is an outstanding netbook; truly redefining what can be expected from this product category. An impressive RAM set up, multiple OS choices, and a massive hard drive are all encased in an impressive and sturdy brushed aluminum exterior. I have large hands, and I found it easy to use the keyboard and mouse. The keyboard is generous and well constructed. The touch pad, with some practice, is actually intuitive and easy to use.

While most of what I wrote above is a rarity for any netbook, the expansion capabilities are truly unique to the 2140. As of this writing, the 2140 is the only netbook with an Expresscard 54 slot. Perfect for any number of x54 cards (SSDs, Mobile broadband, TV Tuners, and especially the MoGo x54 Mouse cards). Additionally, the unit has 2 USB ports, Ethernet, and an SD card reader slot. Wireless A/B/G/N and Bluetooth are also included. The display is gorgeous and bright...very easy on the eyes, even for a 10.1 in screen.

All-in-all, you really cannot go wrong with the 2140 in any configuration offered here on Amazon. It is a solidly designed, feature packed netbook. It's slightly more expensive than what other netbooks are going for, but you will get what you pay for.

If you're looking to take the plunge into the exploding netbook market, or upgrade your Gen 1 netbook, this is a great model.


From netbooks I owned HTC Shift, Asus eee 1000HA and Asus eee 1002HA. I tried out my friends Acer Aspire 1, HP mini 2133 too. So I know how to compare and from my point of view this is excellent laptop. Yes, I call it laptop. Sony calls it's P-series a laptop too, but I think sony p-series is a ladies toy, and cannot replace my laptop, while hp mini 2140 surely can.

Technically it's like most other netbooks on the market: intel atom n270 1.6 Ghz 533mhz FSB, 1-2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, GMA 950 graphics, Wi-Fi b/g/n(draft), BT 2.0+EDR, 10/100/1000 ethernet. It has some strange resolution, non-standart 1024x576 instead of 1024x600. But I didn't notice much difference because of those 24 pixels. Perhaps it was the only way to keep it inside the same chassis as hp mini 2133. Screen is glossy, it could be also good and bad thing about this model. They made very minor changes from old chassis. One is less noticeable but yet important change is side vent design. Side vent holes were placed vertically in old 2133 and as a result, when you place it on soft surface they can be covered from bottom. In 2140 they placed them horizontally, and it increases the side vent clearance from the floor and it has more space at the bottom and less chances to be covered when placed on soft surface. You better check pictures.

Vista runs fine on it.

I've been searching a lot, read many reviews and ended up with a few models to choose from before buying 2140:

Sony P series
Kohjinsha SX
Asus eee 1000HE
HP mini 2140

Sony was out because of it's style. It's more suitable for ladies who don't care much about productivity but rather for style and look. Yes it looks perfect, it's glamor but I don't think I'd be able to accomplish my daily tasks on it.

Kohjinsha SX is still my favorite one, but it's price is very high. HP wins with it's price here.

Asus eee 1000HE has new cpu intel atom n280, the only netbook for the moment that can afford it. Unfortunately they placed it all in almost the same chassis as in 1000HA, which looks cheap. All plastic. Because of the same reason I skipped over samsung nc 10 and acer aspire 1.

In 2140 improved screen size with the same chassis as it's predecessor 2133. They moved speakers to the bottom of the screen and made screen bigger, while keeping the chassis same size.

I was a bit confused why they didn't put n280 in it. Perhaps it takes too long in huge companies like HP to do some design changes and implement latest technologies in their products.

I had some doubts about this model. It's predecessor 2133 was very poor in means of heat and power consumption and noise. It was awful. I was afraid that this model will repeat those mistakes. But it uses intel atom n270 instead of VIA in 2133 which has less power consumption. So i decided to give it a try.

After buying this thing I found out that:
BAD THINGS FIRST:
1) It cannot be easily upgraded. In order to charge it with SSD I would probably have to disassemble it. eee solves it much easier.
2) Battery is not as long as eee or samsung nc. Extra 6 cell battery looks ugly and makes 2140 non-transportable
3) Screen is a bit too high brightness. You need to adjust brightness from control panel to make it normal. It's fixable.
4) Weight is not very well balanced. Back side is heavier than front
5) Charger is big enough, bigger than eee's charger. It's a brick like in normal laptop.
6) Doesn't include any accessories but charger, CDs and manual. At least one cheap case would be fine, before I buy normal case. All eee have slim case in box.

GOOD THINGS
1) it has the best keyboard in the world. I'm so surprised with it's superior quality and comfort that I think it's even more comfortable for me to type on HP mini 2140 than on desktop keyboard or any other laptop/umpc/netbook keyboards (I tried a lot).
2) excellent design. comparable to sony viao, maybe better but not worse than that. It doesn't look like budget netbook. HP looks like >1000$ model for much less price.
3) It's fully functional laptop. It's not a ladies gadget or toy like sony p-series. It has normal resolution (1024x576) for 10'' screen. I do not understand how one can put 1280x768 on 8'' screen like sony did. You can't see anything on sony p-series screen.
4) It has express card 54 slot, which many comparable netbooks doesn't have. I will place 3G card in it. I don't like 3G card pulling out of USB port, prefer it to be mostly hidden in express slot.
5) It still weights only ~1.2kg. SSD version maybe even lighter
4) this model is much cooler, quiter and battery lasts longer than on hp mini 2133. With web browsing, wi-fi on you can get up-to 3.5 hours. More intensive applications - 2.5-3 hours. I tried it with the following applications running: SQL developer, Netbeans IDE, Outlook, google chrome with 3-4 tabs open while windows update installing updates in the background and heavy network and HDD IO and it lasted about 2 hours. I think it's OK. Not as much as eee but OK.
5) I read in reviews that some people were complaining about touchpad, and that buttons are not comfortably placed. I didn't notice that. I think they did a good compromise by placing buttons on the left and right sides of the touchpad, while keeping touchpad itself big enough. Buttons are comfortable for me.
6) It's built up very good. Feels like hp mini 2140 is one solid peace of metal and plastic.
6) Ergonomics. Everything seems to be there where you expected it to be. Every inch is used very effectively, no wasted space here, as a result dimension are very good, looks much smaller than eee pc 1000 series.
7) hp drive guide 3d technology, maybe not important for most of the people, but it's good one. Parks HDD headers when it senses movement or falling. Can save data one day, or maybe not :) It depends.
8) Finally!!! HP engineers managed to optimize OS and not overload it with HP software and removed loads of icons from tray and startup programs that used to be in all OS's preinstalled by HP and other vendors. They did a good job this time, and I spent less time optimizing and updating OS.

Being honest I would give this laptop 4.5, since I didn't have such a chance I choosed to give it 5 instead of 4.

Puzzle is amusing and challenging. It is a wonderful way to clear the mind.


Puzzle is constructed of heavy duty cardboard (backing is gray; front has a canvas-like look to it).

The individual puzzle pieces are oddly-shaped, not your run-of-the-mill-shaped pieces, which, at first, makes the puzzle more difficult, but as you work along, the shapes of the pieces almost help to make the puzzle easier because the shapes/pieces are so visually unique. This is my first Ravensburger puzzle, so maybe unique-shaped pieces are something they are known for, but, for me, it was something I had to get adjusted to. Pieces are also cleanly cut and fit tightly--there's no guessing if the piece really fits there or not.

Colors are great, the blue-water areas all have varying shades of blues, so you can actually put those areas together using the subtle variations of color to guide you rather than just hit-or-miss puzzling.

The only complaint that I have about this puzzle is its orientation, most of the puzzles I work are "landscape" oriented (longer from side-to-side), this puzzle is "portrait" oriented (longer from top to bottom), and because of that I had to reach a lot further across the puzzle to do the top (something to consider if you have limited mobility or space constraints and don't want to have to work the puzzle sideways).

Overall, a really well made puzzle--there was not that usual pile of cardboard dust in the box--and I will definitely look to buy more Ravensburger puzzles in the future.

We bought this as a birthday present for our 2-year old. She loved it and was a great toy for all three of my girls to play with! I didn't want to buy the Magnetix because they were so small. This is a great option since I don't have to worry about my little one swallowing the pieces. My husband really enjoys building things with this as well!


The Magneatos caught my attention because I have an original set with the small pieces. The small set is not practical for toddlers and infants. This allows kids to be creative while learning colors and shapes. The 3 year old I bought it for loved it! It was the gift that distracted him from opening all his presents at Christmas!


I can't brag enough about these. My 21 mo old son plays with them all the time. He hasn't quite gotten into the creating different things with them yet but he loves the magnetic pull they have and is reconnecting them constantly. They are fairly lightweight despite having magnets in them.

I would recommend getting more than one set though. We have 2 sets and a third might be a little better to do more things with them.


I got these for 2 of my nephews and both absolutely love building things with them. Great toy!


There is nothing really to this toy to get started. I bought it for my niece and one for a nephew. They both liked it and it was simple enough that they could pick it up and start using fast. I thought and others thought it was a great toy!


My two older children (4 & 5), had a mini version of this that was too much of a choking hazard for my 10mth old. We got rid of it and bought this one which is wonderful. The parts are just the right size for all the them to grip and play with. They all have fun creating new structures. You can easily add an aditional set for double the fun. We may do that soon. This toy is different, fun, safe, and educational. It doesn't have to sing the alphabet to be educational, just good old creative play!


My children received this product for Christmas. Both the 5 year old and the 20 month old love to play with it. Large, durable pieces are perfect for the 20 month old's hands and the pieces are so large that I do not have to worry about choking.
Can't wait to get the curved pieces to add to our collection and give us more building options!


My two, four, and six year old use this toy on a daily basis. Other than art supplies and kitchen food, these are the only toys that are never out of our play rotation. They have built towers as tall as themselves (with a little help from their engineer-minded uncle), and now they can build fairly intricate constructions on their own using the tips they learned from adults.

The list of things they have made is pretty amazing: microphones, obstacle courses, magic wands, buildings, moats, towers, shapes, etc. They experiment to see how many sticks they can put together before they break apart, how many levels they can go up before it collapses. I can't think of a more durable, educational toy that we have purchased.

The size is large enough that my one year old nephew can safely play with no risk of ingestion. The magnets are sealed completely inside the balls and encased behind plastic rings in the sticks. This is a toy that will last for years and will encourage open-ended play limited only by your child's imagination.

Some other pluses: 1) the pieces are too big to sucked up a vacuum cleaner hose, so when they inevitably roll under the couch, you don't have to worry about clogging your vacuum hose, 2) the colors are unisex and 3) the sticks will stick to any magnetic surface -- you should see some of the interesting sculptures I've found on my frig.

All in all, a fantastic lo-fi toy that has lasted for years of heavy duty use in our house.


I bought this for my 2 year old nephew and he loves it. He enjoys making "snakes" on the floor with them. He's very smart for his age. I assume that he will soon want something he can build something with rather than just get to stick together, but it's great at his current age.


I would have to say I'm a little disappointed. I expected them to stick together a little better for building. They aren't the strongest attaching magnets. My son basically just throws the balls around now.

Bought it today from Office Depot. Great screen, sharp image, whisper quite and quick. Best laptop I ever owned too. Set up and getting started was a breeze. Not sure how it will perform at a later date, but have always forund Toshiba products to be high quality.


I bought my laptop from another online vendor w/ 5 easy payments, so mine was a little more expensive than Amazon.com.
I love the color, It's not lightning fast, but quick enough, the keyboard is great for typing assignments, the number keys to the right are great, that is the main reason I chose a 17 inch laptop, plenty of hard drive space, and 3 GB is fine, but can be upgraded to 4. This is a very quiet laptop, the best I've ever owned.
