Product Description
Power up the learning! Simply plug the adapter into your ClickStart My First Computer Console and AC wall outlet, and get plugged into educational fun.
After reading the reviews I thought the adapter was necessary.
If you like spending your money you can use batteries, but it's really worth it to buy the adapter, it will pay for itself & you don't have the trouble of installing batteries every couple weeks.
I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my three year old. My older son did just fine learning on an ordinary computer. I thought this would be even better. It is useless. Especially the mouse. I could not use the mouse as an adult. No way is this a meaningful training tool for a kid. Totally frustrating experience for my son.
Don't use the product without the ac adaptor. You will have to replace batteries too often.
Basically the adapter proved useless. The computer flashed a low battery warning on screen every 3 seconds when it was running from this adapter. I ended up using a universal adapter, purchased for $[...] running at 5V instead.
My step grandson was given this a year ago. His mother isn't computer literite and thus far the child only played with the accessories. It never
got hooked up or used. Be sure the parent is able to do all the hook up connections or it won't help the child at all, unless you go to his house and do it yourself. By the time we found out, parts were missing.
Too bad since this would have really been a great educational start for him.
We ordered the Leap Frog ClickStart My First Computer for both our 3 year old grandson and grandaughter, and on the recommendation of others we got the adapter to go with them. I'm so glad we did. Now their parents don't have to worry about constantly replacing batteries. I might add that the computers have been a tremendous success. The children play with them daily. Our only complaint with that product is that the mouse pad (or paw, in this case) is too small and frustrates the children sometimes. But they are learing to master it.
This plugs in to the ClickStart so that you don't have to run it with batteries. Amazon wouldn't leave me alone about reviewing it, so here it is. It works great, didn't need directions or anything. The darn thing just plugs in to the ClickStart on the one end with the single connection and in to the wall outlet - you know...the electrical socket that has the three holes in it? - from the other end. Amazing! Couldn't live without it!
I bought this for a christmas present for my grandson's leap frog click start computer. It plugs into the back of the game and he has hours of fun. We were smart enough to think of this when purchasing the ClickStart and am so glad we did. I recommend this to eleviate all the problems of repacing batteries.
We purchased this toy for our 3-year-old granddaughter. It took her a couple of tries before she began to understand that what she saw on the TV screen could be changed by what she did on the keyboard and with the mouse. She used the keyboard interaction better than with the mouse, initially, however, I expect that in the coming days she will learn to use the mouse quite well. I was amazed that she picked it up as fast as she did. The toy held her attention longer than most of the toys she usually plays with. I think it will be durable, as it will have to be with her younger sister around to "play" with it as well.
My 3 year old son took to this computer like a duck to water. He absolutely loved it and learned to click within the day. Get the adapter because the console eats batteries. The keyboard does too, but not as bad.
