Deep Rybka 3 World Chess Champion for Multiprocessor PC

Product Description

Rybka 2, the worlds strongest chess program, lead all ranking lists clearly, with ratings well above Elo 3000. Now Rybka 3 is here, with a dramatic improvement of at least 80 Elo points. Rybka, which translates to "little fish", is the shooting star of computer chess and the reigning world champion, having won its title in Amsterdam 2007. Now it is available in the drastically improved version 3.0 and under the ChessBase-Fritz interface. It includes exciting new analysis functions you will not find in other programs. Today the main use of chess software is interactive analysis. Rybka's superior playing strength helps you to quickly assess a position. But analysis with Rybka 3 is much more than just evaluations and best moves. In the user interface designed by ChessBase, Rybka 3 introduces several ground-breaking new analysis features: Monte Carlo Analysis in Rybka 3: yields precise evaluations by playing thousands of ultra-fast games in a few minutes in a given position. Singular Moves in Rybka 3: are annotated graphically. This indicates situations where only one clearly best move exists. Look for win in Rybka 3: whenever you feel that there should be a forced win in a position you can explicitly ask for it. Rybka then searches for a decisive move, considerably faster than in normal analysis. System requirements: Minimum: Pentium 300 MHz, 64 MB RAM, Windows Vista or XP (SP 2), DVD ROM drive, Windows Media Player 9. Recommended: Pentium IV 2.2 GHz or higher, 256 MB RAM, Windows Vista, GeForce5 or compatible graphics card with 64 MB RAM or higher, 100% DirectX compatible sound card, Windows Media Player 9, DVD ROM drive.

Easy to use. Flexible interface. Analysis and training tools are good, but not quite what the help file claims ^_^. Better players will get more out of Rybka. Definitely recommend this product.

Deep Rybka 3 plays like a cross between Alekhine [who was the greatest human chessplayer of all time] and Petrosian [the greatest coffeehouse-style player ever]. It is profoundly dynamic and efficient. By searching, on average, only about 2% of the total number of positions of Deep Fritz 7, for example, it could outplay DF7 by a 6 to 1 (or greater) margin in a match. Amazingly, it analyzes positions using human-like pattern-recognition; thus, it plays an extremely sophisticated game.

Well i'd been rybka costumer for almost two years. This isuue Rybka 3 deep Rybka are launched by CHESSBASE not convekta, so the console is more friendly to use. Maybe i tell this because i used to worked with chess base plataform.

ABOUT the ENGINE
This Version Estimates 3150 of ELO.

The only engine who wom two year continuosly the World Computer Chess Championship 2007 and 2008.

October 2008, Rybka is top-rated in every computer circuit(CCRL, CEGT, CSS, SSDF, and WBEC)

In 2006 Dutch Open Computer Championship wow all games (maybe draw one),

Why should you choose this Engine, over other chess programs?
Ok, every engine (Fritz, junior, othes) can defeat the best human player. This version are supported: optimum, human, and dynamic analysis.

Rybka style is little bit more easy to understand, from other engine analysis because make many non natural and computely moves, Rybka is must natural clever.

My ELo could be around 2100 USCF, and after rybka make a move,i can see the plan (sometimes but more often from other engines).

In this version, in you can insert a candidate move, and the computer runs on the line you choose, and many variant you want, so you can create your own tree. This help a lot to improve your chess, because, the engine is induce to play like your style. And Best analysis

Customer Buzz
Rybka has been by far the strongest and the most efficient computer chess engine since it came out a few years ago. The new version 3 reaches such high ILO ratings that practically leaves everything and everyone else in the dust.

I was at first intimidated by Rybka's strength. After all, does a 1000-rated player really need a 3000+ rated program that can easily beat Kasparov? After trying a few other programs including ChessMaster, however, I decided that their erratic position analysis was simply too unreliable and finally took the plunge.

The new Rybka 3 came out in August with a new front-end application, Aquarium, designed specifically for it. Unfortunately, a quick web search reveals wide-spread user discontent about the buggy nature of this new software. Therefore, I chose to go with the tried-and-true Chessbase version.

The installation went smoothly without a hitch. The Chessbase front-end runs fairly stable but comes without some of the fancy features of ChessMaster. What I really wants is to do position analysis quickly and reliably, however, and here, Rybka truly shines. It reaches a stable, consistent and trustworthy evaluation at a depth of 14 to 15. It is like having god on your side to ask for advise at every turn.

I run Deep (i.e. the multi-processor version) Rybka with Windows Vista 64 on an Intel Q9450 quad-core machine with 8GB of RAM. It generally takes around a minute to evaluate 10-30 million positions and reach the useful depth of 14. The only time the recommendations look a little suspect is during the opening, but this is largely due to the fact that I did not purchase the Rybka book, which is sold separately.

In all, there is no guarantee that Rybka will improve the user's chess skill, but no computer program can really make that claim anyway. What it is guaranteed to do is to give the users reliable position evaluation in real time. To me, therefore, it takes away most of the confusion and frustration in studying chess. I am truly happy with the purchase.

I just received this terrific new Rybka 3 for multiprocessors. WOW! It uses the ChessBase interface (not Convekta/ChessOk the Russian software produced interface). It is easy to use and has a myriad of new features that look extremely promising. So far this world computer chess champ has made some incredible insights into my playing strengths and weakness. With this kind of training, improvement should be fast, painless and fun.

Kudos ChessBase! Another winner. Thanks ChessCentral for the ebook. It made getting going smooth sailing.
