Customer Buzz
We purchased these for our 3 grandchildren for Christmas and it was by far the best Christmas ever. All the adults enjoyed riding them as much as the kids. Everyone is purchasing them for their kids and grandkids!! Money well spent!!

Customer Buzz
Bought Rolling Coaster Car by Wasatch for just $[...] after trying plasma car at local toy store. Function and durability seem equivalent. This toy is a blast. My 24-month old jumped right on and was zipping around on our hardwood floors immediately. My older girls (7 and 10) love it and parents and grandparents have even enjoyed taking it for a ride!

Customer Buzz
I bought this for my grandson and had more fun watching his dad ride this toy!!! Loads of fun.

Customer Buzz
My daughter has enjoyed it a lot, I put on myself to play with her. We are amused whirl between the living room and dining area, slides so incredible.

Customer Buzz
3 years ago we bought one of these for our daughter's second birthday - it was actually the Twist Car brand (got it on here for $[...] - best deal ever!) but it's the same thing, hers is just a little smaller. Anyway, she was able to figure it out very quickly, and it's the favorite of all of my nieces and nephews - they all fight over it! All ages too, between 2 and 12! Now my daughter is almost 5 and my 2 year old son has taken over her car so I just purchased a Plasma Car for my daughter since it's bigger and they can both have their own. It is seriously the best thing we have ever bought for our kids, and they ride for hours and never get tired of it! These maneuver so smoothly it's amazing! We have laminate wood floors throughout our house and they weave so easily in between funiture. Best thing ever!

My 3 year old grandson sat on it and took control right away. He enjoys this tool and it also teaches him to develop his agility and dexterity. A great toy for young kids.

Customer Buzz
This is our third "scooter" and we love them. Great for kids and adults. Worth every penny and very durable (except when run over by the car!!). Our 3 and 5 yr-olds love them and we anticipate many years of fun with them.

Customer Buzz
bought this as a gift for a 2 1/2 year old. the entire extended family took turns riding it with him all day long on Christmas day. a huge hit! and he will enjoy it for years to come.

Customer Buzz
i bought this for my grandson and he adored it instantly and has been riding all over the house ever since he got itl.

Customer Buzz
What a cool concept. Once they saw these they had to have them. They ride them around the house now that it is Winter and I don't even mind.

Customer Buzz
We have bought just about every tricycle out there for our kids when they are in that stage where their little legs can't reach the peddals. Tricycles are such a waste of money. By the time their little legs reach the peddals they want to ride a big wheel or big kids type of bike. This is so awesome for younger kids (around 2 and up). They can very easily learn how to make it move. It has a high weight limit so moms can use it too. I race my kids around our house (we have 2 and more traditional scooter). The cons to this is the wheel comes off a lot easier than I would expect. The bolt that holds it one comes loose quite easily. And the other con is it need a smooth surface. Any rough surface and we can't get it to work good. Oh, and it doesn't go over carpet unless you get a really good running start and can glide over small areas of carpet. I make all adults who come to my house try it out. It really is fun!

Customer Buzz
We bought this riding toy years ago when my daughter was three. It ended up being more for me than for her... she rode her tricycle while I rode this up and down the sidewalk (I'm her Mom...35 yr. old). It's weight limit is upwards of 150 lbs. and we've had great fun with it for over 4 years. The front wheel broke off within 2 weeks of owning it, but it has no effect on the way it works. Now my 3 year old son whirrrs down the driveway on it. It's by far the favorite of the neighborhood.

Customer Buzz
We bought the first car as a possible present for the summer in the park's parking lot. After finding someone 6'2" could ride it, we ordered a second. It is a quick, lively toy that is propelled not by the feet, but by twisting the handle side to side. The boys, 7 and 4 have been on them every day unless we have to take the privilege away (and works very effectively as they do not want to lose the use of these cars!). They are sturdy plastic yet light weight so I can take them in the car easily; much better than dealing with heavy bikes and trikes. Inside they have a space about 9x15 to ride in and have races. They work best on wooden or very flat floors, our low carpet can be crossed but they don't get the speed up. I will be buying more to allow friends to ride with them.

Customer Buzz
Two friends recommended this toy to me but I must say that my son really hasn't used it much at all since Christmas. I think he just enjoys going really fast on his bike and scooter and this is not a really fast toy. So, I cannot give it a high rating as it has hardly been used. My friends' boys love it though, so I guess it's a hit for some.

Customer Buzz
This toy is my favorite thing that we've bought for our two-year old. (He kind of likes it too!) He loves scooting around on it, altho he hasn't completely figured it out yet. He prefers it over his little tricycle, I think since it's closer to the ground and easier to control. Works great on hard indoor surfaces, but not so great on lumpy uneven concrete outdoors.

Purple PlasmaCar

Product Description

Oppenheim Toy Porfolio Platinum Award 2006! Nominated-Outdoor Toy of the Year 2006! Kids' race car of the future. Hop on the Plasma Car & prepare to zip, zoom & cruise! Customer Buzz
The car I purchased was advertised as a Plasma car, but when it arrived, I knew it wasn't the real thing but instead a generic version called the Whrilly Roller. The actual Plasma car as enjoyed by the neighbor children, is much heavier and has a 2 tone appearance, with the seat being one color and the body a different color. The one I bought off Amazon was all one color and much lighter. It's not bad...it's just not what we expected and certainly not as advertised.

Customer Buzz
I bought the PlasmaCar for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She enjoys sitting on it and scooting along, but has had very little opportunity as my 5 and 3 year old have adopted it. My 5 year old especially just LOVES this car. She never gets tired of riding around on it. The car was a present in the Winter and worked great inside, but now in the nicer Spring weather, she is having great fun riding it around the garden. 3 girls, 1 PlasmaCar, I definitely anticipate buying more of these in future. I love the fact that adults can use it to, every now and again the girls let their old mum have a turn :) Fun, well made and appropriate for a wide age range.

Customer Buzz
Great toy my kids got hooked at a friends and it has been a great christmas preasent that has not been forgotten.

Customer Buzz
Great toy---almost magical---in ideal conditions. My daughter loved, I mean LOVED it inside on our ceramic tile floor. Our almost smooth driveway was also some fun. Our asphalt culdesac and quiet street were a disaster. She was VERY disappointed that the thing barely moved on the street. The closer you can get to glass to ride this thing on the better. But even our slightly "pebbly rough" street is way too much for it. You would easily have thought it would have been fine! If I knew this ahead of time, I probably wouldn't have bought it. We will have to drive somewhere just to use it outside other than our short steeper driveway. Consider where you have a VERY smooth surface, an area recently paved or recoated at least, before you buy. When it works (5+ stars)---it's great, when it doesn't it's just a big dissappointment (0- stars).

Customer Buzz
I was back and forth about getting our kids (6, 4, 2) one for Xmas. Boy am I glad I did! The six year old rides it around the kitchen (it's been raining here) while the two year old sits on the back and the four year old pushes. The four year old can ride it no problem, it's a bit too advanced for the two year old to manage by himself, but he loves catching rides with his sibs. I even took it for a spin around the kitchen while the kids were out with their dad. What fun! It was a huge hit! I bought mine at our local toy store for $59, everywhere else had it for $69. Get one, they are a blast! The purple one looks a bit darker in person more of a purple-navy, it's a good choice for boys or girls.

Customer Buzz
We started out with two plasma cars for our four children ages 2 to 8. We now have four cars. It was just too hard to share, every one wants to have fun! We mainly ride them on a large concrete slab in the backyard or the driveway. We've also taken them around the block on the sidewalk. My older three use the cars correctly, my two year old uses his feet for propulsion. I've even taken a ride or two (or more). Plasma cars are fun! We race them, draw our own tracks or just drive the cars around and around. You can get them going at a pretty good clip if you have a slight incline in your driveway or sidewalk.

Make sure you tighten the steering column as tight as possible. On this last one we purchased, dad had to do the tightening. I just couldn't get it tight enough. You may have to re-tighten the steering column every once in awhile.

Our cars have stayed outside this summer and I haven't noticed any fading or rusting. The inside cavity does fill up with water from the sprinkler. However, this easily drains out when the car is tipped up on the rear seat to rest. We will bring the cars in for winter.

The Plasma car is one of those toys that your child will play with every day that there is good weather outside and can be used inside if your floors can take it.

Overall, it's a good investment that your child will enjoy for a long, long time (you will, too).

Customer Buzz
I recently purchased 2 of the plasma cars just to have at "grandmas" for the kids to play with and I am considering purchasing 2 more because all want to ride them (ages 3 to 12). I have even let them ride them on my wood floors and they didn't leave marks as I had thought they would. I am amazed at the hours of fun my grandkids have had. Our little 3 year old just had a birthday and she got a pink one to take home and she just loves it! Thank you for the hours of enjoyment! It is so fun just to watch the kids race!

Customer Buzz
This toy is just plain fun. Even for your kids! In fact you might have to get them one as well! It started when we ordered a couple for our two grandkids. Both boys. One barely walking and the other a 4 year old that doesn't know the meaning of walk. Once we got these put together we saw how much fun they were we had to find a reason to order more, so we decided our niece and nephew needed them as well.

The specifics:
1. The toy is easy to put together. All you need is a hard rubber mallet (a block of wood and a claw hammer works just as well), and a Philips screwdriver. (You will not need to put in any screws but you will need the screwdriver with the included socket tool to help you tighten the nut on the steering shaft). There is a good video on YouTube about how easy it is to put together.
2. The toy is sturdy. Check out some of the plasma car race video's on YouTube to see how sturdy this toy is. (In no way do I suggest this is the way to treat the toy, but the videos are entertaining.) In any case they state the toy can handle up to 200 lbs on a smooth surface. I can personally testify that it will handle a bit more than that with no problem. (Hey Plasma Car! How about a bigger model made for us full size 50 year old adult frame types. I am at a significant disadvantage when sidewalk racing because of the cramped posture I must assume when competing!)
3. The toy is fast enough for any toddler, and on a downhill slope can be a real thrill. Toddlers will find it fun and they figure out how to make it move without any instruction. They can also paddle it around with their feet as well. Believe me, they will make it move plenty fast with just a little practice.
4. The toy is expensive but consider that if they start at 4 years old they could ride it for 10 years or more. So it only comes out to about five or six dollars a year. How many toys can you say that about?
5. No motor. No fuel. No batteries. You might think that means no fun. But not so! Certainly it's not as fast as a dirt bike. But watching my 18 year old daughter cruise around the house made me realize that fun riding toys don't necessarily need motors. And since we won't let her ride the dirt bike indoors, (or even her bicycle for that matter) this becomes a fun alternative.
6. Quiet. Except for the giggles and squeals.

If you read other reviews you will see a couple of disappointed reviewers. As for being hard to put together, the ones we received went together easily. You will need a hammer of some sort, and some tool like a screwdriver to turn the socket tool but that is all. Fast and easy to put together. As to being slow, well it can be. It can also go fairly quickly. It's all in how you work the handles back and forth. Really, check out the videos on YouTube.
I think kids of any age will really like the Plasma Car. I highly recommend this product.

Customer Buzz
The plasma cars are nice for both kids to ride. We didn't have any problems with installing.

Customer Buzz
I keep these in different colors at my house so the grandkid's have a "special" toy at Nana & Papa's house. I have 11 grandchildren, ages 22 to 6 months--all LOVE these, (except the baby and he will enjoy in a year).Grandparents everywhere NEED these kid magnets!!

Santa gave my 5 year old daughter this for christmas and she hasn't stopped playing with it. Her brother who is 11 years old rides on it too, and it's pink! His friends came over for a sleepover and they all loved it! They are fighting about who can ride it all the time! I think it is time to buy a second one!

Customer Buzz
These are awesome toys! We bought two, one for an 11 year old and one for a 7 year old. Everyone argues over who rides them next! The 2 year old can go as fast as the 25 year old. Thrilled with this purchase!! Would highly recommend to everyone!

Customer Buzz
My girls love ridding on these cars and they were so excited. You have to have at least two because even an adult can ride on them.

Lots of Fun.

Customer Buzz
Although ws dreaded putting this together, it was a breeze (once we figured out the tool provided for t ghtening was too large in one of the two cars we bought. I have never given a more successful gift for sister(6) and brother (3) team.

Customer Buzz
The kids love this car. its is so easy to use and even the big kids have fun riding it down the road. lots of our friends have had these cars recently and we all love them.

Customer Buzz
I bought this for my grand-daughter for her 4th birthday and she adores it. It was a great price and worth every bit.

Customer Buzz
Fun for ALL ages! My daughter got this for her 5th birthday and it is a HUGE hit. I also have a seven year old son who doesn't even care that he's riding on a pink car.

I know it has gotten a couple bum reviews, but let me tell you about our experience with it. This car basically runs on kinetic energy. You have to wiggle the steering wheel back and forth and the motion gets it going. We've had it on a variety of hard surfaces including pavement (most difficult place to get it to go), pergo, tile, and cement and it's been fun. My kids have no problems zooming around from surface to surface except for asphalt. Like I said, asphalt is difficult to ride it on, but not impossible. It's VERY important to get the screw for the steering wheel in correctly and tightly for optimum car performance.

I will also admit to riding on the thing and really having a great time. It's part ride on kiddie car and part Disneyland, in my opinion. Once you get it going, zooming around while going back and forth reminds me of being on some of the track rides at the theme park (obviously in a scaled down version). That fun wooshy feeling is there (albeit, a slower woosh than theme park rides, unless you are going down a hill, which is not recommended by the manufacturer, probably due to our overtly litigious society). It's also a really good work out for your arms. I think I am starting to loose some of that jiggle that sets in after thirty. Ha ha!

If you are looking for something that is going to do all the work for you, this probably isn't the toy for you. But if you have a reasonable expanse of hard flooring, driveway, and/or sidewalks and you want your kids to actually have to do something other than press a button to go, I recommend PlasmaCar. Now I just have to order one in a "boy" color so the kids will stop fighting over it. Okay, and I MIGHT get one for me. :)

Customer Buzz
It's amazing how this little car manages to move without pedals. Just turning the wheels gives it momentum. My grandchildren love it.

Customer Buzz
We have two plasma cars, and we will be buying two more. I thought my four children could share, but no one wants to get off! I've taken a spin on the car, and they are fun to drive. You do have to tighten the steering wheel down tight to get the car to function properly. I can even zoom around with my two year old sitting with me. He also likes to just push it around with his feet. Fun for the whole family!

Customer Buzz
My 6 year old grandson got one for this past Christmas. His 8 year old brother really liked it and used some of his Christmas money to purchase one. Then his 4 year old sister wanted one for her birthday. So now there are 3 of them and the kids are having great fun with them. They ride them on their tile floor in their home and outside on the sidewalk. There is even a 2 1/2 year old who has no problem making them go. I don't know if the car has been improved since the August 2007 review, but my grandkids have had no problems getting the cars to go fast. It amazes me how they can turn them on a dime and totally miss the walls in the house. Sometimes the boys will give the girls rides and even with the extra body on it, the thing really goes.

Blue PlasmaCar

Product Description

Oppenheim Toy Porfolio Platinum Award 2006! Nominated-Outdoor Toy of the Year 2006! Kids' race car of the future. Hop on the Plasma Car & prepare to zip, zoom & cruise! No typical toy pedal car, this revolutionary ride on toy has even adults Plasma Car crazy! Plasma Car harnesses the natural forces of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity & friction. An inside or outside toy designed like a trike with no pedals, gears or batteries! More fun than a scooter & supports up to 220 pounds! Yep, even Grandpa can take a spin!!!

Customer Buzz
My eldest son calls this his Twist Car. Both my sons (2 yrs old and 5 yrs old) love this plasmacar. They can't seem to get enough of it. It's a good diversion from all those videogames or tv shows they love playing and watching. We sometimes use this to drive our 2 year old around the house to make him fall asleep. Just love love this product.

Customer Buzz
We have had our PlasmaCar for about a year and a half and i just discovered it no longer works. we typically leave it outside and this past winter did it in. there are metal parts where the steering wheel and the wheels in front meet and they rusted over completely and we can no longer turn the wheel. I wish i would have known that before i left it outside in the harsh weather(i live in california, so my harsh is very mild to some of you)

Overall the toy was a great investment. my son rode on it almost everyday during the summer and even my 14 month old was able to figure out how it worked by watching us and she could go a little ways on it. I used to ride it myself w/her in front of me and i am 5'3". so the age range is vast. This toy is great for any kid in my opinion but just dont leave it in wet weather.

Customer Buzz
We have 3 children, ages 6, 4 and 2. All of them love, love, love these toys. They received them for Christmas and we weren't sure how much they would be able to enjoy them with it being so cold outside. Well, I must say they have learned quite well how to navigate them in the house and are having a blast everyday riding them. They are even fun for the adults too!!! They are so easy to turn and our 2 year old figured out how to make it roll the first day.

Customer Buzz
This was the second plasma car we bought. The first was for our first grandson. Since he and his brother (now 2-1/2) were fighting over who would ride it -- we decided to get #2 his own. He was thrilled to have his own. Even with the pedal bikes the boys own, they always come back to the plasma cars. They are very sturdy -- even the moms and dads get on them!

Customer Buzz
My boys love it. They fight for it. Every child that comes to visit wants to ride it. I recently bought 5 of these cars as presents for my friend's children. Best ride-on toy ever!!! Questioning the durability? DON'T! I rode it myself in the park with my son upfront and this toy is still around! Get it and let the fun begin!

Customer Buzz
My son got this for Christmas 2 years ago. He is now 9 yrs.old and still rides around on our hardwood floors all through the house. I am going to get one for my 4 yr. old daughter now, she loves his. It is very durable and easy to put together as long as you get the nut on the steering wheel just right before tightening. If the steering wheel is off, the car doesn't work as well.

Customer Buzz
This is just a plasma car without the high price. Works fine and it is lots of fun. I'm using it to teach Physics in High School!

Customer Buzz
This has got to be the best toy ever!!! We bought a purple one for my daughter when she was 2.5 years old r/t sensory issues, thought it would be easier than a scooter board, Well, she just absolutely loves this car!!! She is now 4.5 years old and still rides this car EVERY DAY, at least once....she likes to sit on it and watch tv, and roll back and forth. Great sensory feedback. Great activity for her also. We have hardwood floors/tile/and some rug. definitely performs better on the hardwood, good on the tile, but noisy; and ok on the rug. she can only push it with her feet on the rug, but on smooth surfaces, she has mastered the rocking of the hands. We just giggle at her all the time when she is riding it, it does go fast so please be aware, but she is just so darn cute on it and the way they rock their arms to make it go is priceless!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this toy for everyone!!!! So much better than all those other scooter cars, that are cheap and cannot be used for years and years!!!

Customer Buzz
Now I wish that I'd bought two of these. Both of my children ages 5 and 3 love this little car. It can get going pretty fast and I think they like that there is no pedaling required to go. It's well built.

Customer Buzz
My 6 year old 65 lb child seems a bit too big for this car but she does like it. Unfortunately she can only use it in the house on our tile. We tried it outside and it doesn't work well on sidewalks or roads (on a cul de sac.) The companys video on their website shows a lot of children on these cars in a real GYM! Yes, that would be nice but where can you find a gym! Nowhere that I have seen - as a matter of fact gyms usually do not allow wheeled toys in them. Another problem is that the front wheel alignment is constantly needing to be re-aligned. Overall, kids do like this but I would change the age range from approx 3-7 and you really need a large tile or hardwood floor area in your home (unless you know someone who happens to own a gym!)
