Product Description
The Big Bad Wolf has nothing on these sturdy cardboard blocks. They're easy to assemble, and they're lightweight so even the youngest builders can construct their dream home. Bright colors mean endless combinations. Includes 24 blocks.
I bought it for my 6-yr old daughter who wanted it for her Christmas because she heard about it from her classmate. She never played once after this toy arrived. I guess its really only for younger children (toddlers) who enjoys this kind of toy. Apparently it's not for my daughter.
I was supprised to find how strong these blocks are.
Bought them for my 2yr. old grandson who is pretty heavy handed and these blocks hold up. Right now my husband and I are having more fun with them than he is!
We got these for our 2 and 4 year old children. I can remember playing with these when i was younger and thought they'd be fun for them. Once my husband and I figured out how to put them together, we could have put them together in our sleep. But it took awhile to figure it out. They are fairly durable cardboard so they are holding up well.
Great in developing creativity in what they build with them. They build houses, bridges, and tall tall towers. They stack them by size and color.
We are enjoying them but you have to have a tote to store them in or you'll be kicking them everywhere:)
My son got a set of these last Christmas when he was 2, and now we give them as gifts all the time! He gets hours of enjoyment from building castles, garages, towers...anything his imagination cooks up. (He sometimes even tapes on faces and builds animals, and once he set out to construct every letter of the alphabet with his blocks!) This is a great gift for ages 2 and up...even my 10 year old nephew still loves to play with them when he comes over. It's an excellent gift that grows with the child, and parents will thank you for giving a toy that doesn't beep, light up, or require batteries.
Melissa and Doug 24 pc Basic Cardboard Blocks
I bought this set of blocks for my two-year-old granddaughter (who is definitely one of those Lake Wobegone children who is "above average," if I do say so myself!) and she LOVES these blocks. So far she has built trains, walls, and the occasional tower. She loves building little "rooms" and stepping in and out of them. And she loves involving her mom and dad in this play.
Large cardboard blocks are some of the best classic, interactive, creative, no-end-to-fun toys ever invented. The large size of the blocks helps a little one feel powerful when they build, and allows them to impact their environment in a very observable way. They are a wonderful way to experiment with space, and to experience autonomy and creation! This set from Melissa and Doug is brighter and prettier than the ones I remember using with my own children, and offer more options because of the three modular sizes included in the set: full size red blocks, half size blue blocks, and quarter size yellow blocks. My only regret is that I didn't buy a LARGER set!
They are also very sturdy, although it's a bit early to tell how long they will hold up. My granddaughter is able to stand on them without warping, and she's not a lightweight.
The manufacturers information on Amazon states that "Each block measures 19"L x 12.5"W x 5.75"H". This is untrue. There are 24 blocks of various sizes, the largest blocks are 19"L x 12.5"W x 5.75"H.
My kids love playing with them. The information was just misleading.
My 19 month old absolutely loves these! He's a hefty little one, too, and they are sturdy enough to hold his weight when he builds himself "thrones" to sit on. Downsides... takes a bit to put them all together. Easy enough, but time-consuming. And storing them is kind of a pain. All in all, great buy. Melissa & Doug products are fantastic!
The blocks were easy to assemble and the child who received them loved stacking and knocking them over. He'll have many fun times with them!
This basic set of Cardboard Blocks was a big hit with my 2 year old grandson! They are easily assembled, sturdy (he stood on them) and lightweight. He was facinated with building a tunnel for his "choo-choo"! I have seen them in use over the years and always knew they would be an early purchase whenever I had grandchildren. I wish I had them when my own children were small!
